The purpose of WPE is to protect nature and its habitats sustainably. All WPE projects are long-term projects.
Proper education and awareness is an important aspect of our interaction with nature.
One has to recall that even in the West recognition of the value for preserving nature is fairly recent. It only makes sense, to cultivate this awareness with the children in school. Therefore, one of the main focuses of the WPE projects is sensitization & education.

Current projects:
Environmental Education in conjunction with media such as music, theater, radio plays and more.
Awareness about the bushmeat and pet trade.
Animal rescues, investigations for the detection of illegal Animal- and Bushmeat traders.
Projects in planning
Orphanage for wild animals
Socially responsible Eco-tourism
General promotion of projects with the topic Nature and Environment.
Setting up of socially responsible Eco tourism creates employments and brings foreign currency in the country. This creates a better understanding to the population of the importance of nature, thus ensuring that nature is protected which makes a better place for all to live.
In many countries, it has proven beneficial, to provide funds for farmers to compensate for the distruction of rice fields and other agricultural areas, by elephants, apes or wild boars. Another part of the program is, consulting farmers regarding breeding and upbringing of farm animals and the optimization of their harvests.
In the same context, another key element is the education of the local people, regarding the consumption of Bushmeat and the associated poaching and butchering.
