Saving wild animals’ habitat, has absolute priority and is key for the protection of wildlife. Both, the explosion of the human population as well as greed, leaves the planets last natural habitats almost without any chance.
The elephant, for example, is the largest and maybe the most impressive mammal. Unfortunately, the life of this gentle giant is still at risk for its tusks, due to the high prices for ivory. Many elephants die for a few handful of ric. Conflict with resident farmers is a second issue, which also proofs deadly for the elephant. The last apes, our next relatives, are shortly before the final eradication. The missing living space is an other cause for the species extinction and has dramatic dimensions. All living beings are affected. Our world becomes more and more infertile. Day by day.
Elephants of Cameroon, Apes and all other wild species and their collision with modern civilisation, are in WPE’s focus. Finally WPE serves human beings. This has an adverse effect on global humanity as a whole. Projects have to be established, to help integrate farmers in wildlife projects and financial aid is needed, to compensate for damaged crop.
Making it profitable for local residents to conserve nature rather than destroy it, is one of the key concepts of WPE’s projects |
